Men – Mini Abdominoplasty or Mini Tummy Tuck
Mini Tummy Tuck, also known as Mini Abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin from the abdomen. It is a less invasive procedure, designed for contour problems without as much loose skin as the full Abdominoplasty.
A full Tummy Tuck improves both the upper and lower abdomen where as a Mini Tummy Tuck only improves the skin of the lower stomach area but does permit Liposuction and muscle tightening on the upper stomach to be performed at the same time.
The Mini Tummy Tuck has a smaller incision than the full Tummy Tuck, which is placed below the trunk line. It can be as small as 2 inches and the recovery time is shorter.
Mini Tummy Tucks are a very popular option for men between 40-50, seeking to return to their abdominal firmness.
Mini Tummy Tucks not only helps to restore the physical appearance of the patient, but also restores self-confidence and self-esteem.
The Surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthetic and takes 1 to 2 hours to complete.
Mr Ferrando will discuss all aspects of the Mini Tummy Tuck procedure suitable to you at your consultations.
The Consultation
At the consultations, Mr Ferrando will take your medical history, thoroughly assess you, find out about your expectations of the surgery and will explain each stage of the Mini Tummy Tuck procedure to you. He will carefully discuss all options suitable to you and answer any questions you may have. The exact procedure depends on the anatomy of the patient. Clear communication about your aesthetic goals is vital at this stage.
Mr Ferrando will also explain the risks of smoking and medications to you, as they can interfere with the procedure as well as the healing process.
Mr Ferrando strongly believes that “good communication and feedback” between himself and his patients assures a maximum satisfactory outcome of Cosmetic Surgery.
The Procedure
The Mini Tummy Tuck procedure is performed with a small horizontal incision in the lower abdomen within the trunk line, so it can be easily camouflaged in most low cut trunks and in low-rise jeans.
Mr Ferrando may insert a temporary thin drainage tube in the incision site, to remove excess fluids. A light dressing will be applied and you may have to wear a compressive garment to support the healing process.
After Surgery – Recovery
After the surgery, you may feel a bit tender and sore. Mr Ferrando will provide you with pain relief medication to ease your discomfort. The drainage tubes will be removed before you leave the clinic but you may need to keep the dressing and compressive garment on for a few weeks.
It is very important to keep your knees bent when you are in bed to stop putting strain on your stitches as it will aid the recovery process. Some type of stitches are dissolvable and will disappear over time, whereas others will need to be removed 1 to 2 weeks after surgery.
You should feel much better 2-3 days after surgery, but patients are recommended to have at least 3-4 days off work to allow their body to rest and recover comfortably at home. Any strenuous exercise or activities should be avoided for at least 6 weeks after surgery.
Follow up appointments will be made for you after surgery, but if you have any questions, or you should feel unsure about anything, please contact Mr Ferrando and he will gladly talk to you. The well being of his patients is of utmost importance to him.

All surgeries carry certain risks and even though they are rare you should be aware of them before making your decision. Mr. Ferrando will talk you through any possible risks and side effects at his consultations as they will vary depending on the patient’s skin, body shape, age, condition and lifestyle.
